Harwoods to develop flagship site in Crawley
7th April 2014

Motor dealership group Harwoods is to develop a new flagship site in Crawley after securing funding from RBS.

The West Sussex-based group, which offers luxury brands including Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Jaguar and Land Rover, has purchased a 9.4-acre site on which it will develop a dealership for Jaguar Land Rover.

Harwoods, which has operated the Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships in Crawley since 2012, has borrowed the full purchase price of the land from RBS.

Finance director Paul Suter said: "We have outgrown our current Jaguar Land Rover premises and we are looking forward to the next ten to 20 years so we need a bigger site.

"Jaguar Land Rover is a very exciting franchise which is going to have a new look with a new concept. This will be a landmark site.

"As a private, family company we also want to own our own premises where possible. This new site is freehold, whereas we rent our current premises."

The company worked with the bank's relationship director Antony White to secure this funding.

White said that Harwoods has seen a "sustained period of exceptional financial performance through challenging economic conditions".
