Regional Growth Fund Round 6 opens
24th June 2014

Round 6 of the RGF opened on 19 June 2014. At least £200 million of RGF support is being made available for this round and bidders have until midday on 30 September 2014 to submit their applications to the Fund. Those bids that are selected for support will have until March 2017 to drawn down the RGF funding.

Round 6 remains focused on the private sector and bids will only be accepted from wholly private organisations, such as limited companies and universities. The minimum bid threshold is £1 million. The RGF continues to operate in England only.

Further guidance to those thinking about bidding is available in the RGF Round 6 leaflet

RGF roadshows and expression of interest meetings

To help potential bidders we are running a series of roadshows across England in July and early August. At these roadshows you will hear from us on what the RGF is, what we are looking for in a good bid and how we appraise each application we receive. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session with our panel – made up of one of our economists, a local business figure and a senior member of the RGF team, such as a Minister or a member of the Independent Advisory Panel

You can also request a face-to-face meeting with one of the RGF Secretariat team members to go through your plans and receive initial feedback ahead of submitting a formal application. These Expression of Interest (EoI) meetings are available at different times at in different formats:

  • If you are attending a roadshow you can book an EoI session for straight afterwards in the afternoon
  • You can request a telephone EoI in September

Also running are dedicated EoI days across England, a couple of weeks after each roadshow. So if you want to attend a roadshow, go away and think about your investment proposal and then come back and discuss later, these might suit you.

Submitting your application

Once you are ready to put together your formal application you need to complete the standard RGF application forms. These come in two parts. Part 1 is mainly qualitative information on your proposals and Part 2 mainly quantitative, including figures on funding sources and uses, job estimates and location details.
